Lake Camanche Fishing Report 5/4/18

The lake is still rising! 93% full as of 5/4/19 @ 11-am. Elevation 231.47′ at the time of this report. Lake Camanche was releasing to approx. 700 C.F.S. Pardee Lake was at 100% and spilling over the dam. Lake Camanche was receiving approx. 1,558 C.F.S.

5/4 Mt. Lassen planted 1,200 lbs. of trout with 600 lbs. South Trout Pond and 600 lbs. to the South Lake. Water temperature at the end of south lake courtesy dock was 69 degrees.

Left: Dave Jans of West Sacramento and longtime angler of Lake Camanche sent me his report on 4/30. “Water temps have risen to 70 despite the intake from Pardee. We caught 12 fish with the majority on points down 15-20’ on Texas rigged plastics-All feeding on crawdads. The high lake level seems to have the bass confused as they have a lot of new territories available. The bite for big fish was tough. Some were caught shallow and others much deeper. I have a feeling May will really open up for big fish limits.”

Right: Christyne Cahill posted this picture of her daughter on 4/28 on FB NorCal Fish Whisperers and wrote, “This girl landed the largest trout again…. I might stop bringing the little terd hahahaha. Proud of her, but she cheated somehow, some way LOL.” Her daughter’s name is Aroura and I was told she was using  orange and green power bait.
