Lake Camanche has very happy anglers as we continue to plant Mt. Lassen trout. As of this report 21,900 lbs. have already planted with an additional 1,200 lbs. expected in this week.
Pictured here are Steve Freeman and Zach Walker with their stringer from Sunday 1/10/16. They were fishing down the Narrows and were using orange and white powerbait.
Doug Hunger shared his photos on the Gold Country Fishing Report regarding his day at Lake Camanche. He wrote, “We fished Camanche today, the day ended with 8 fish for 3 anglers, all on bait ( power bait & crawlers). We trolled for a couple hours in the morning with zero results.”
Doug also share a photo of another angler’s trout from the fishing cleaning station that they estimate to be 8 lbs.
Pictured on the right is Joe Hirai of Sacramento who brought in this 8.35 lbs. lunker on Monday 1/4/16. He reeled in his catch from the pond using grubs.
To the left is Joseph Whisenhunt of Fresno who brought in this stringer from the south shore day use area using power eggs on Saturday 1/9/16.
Pictured on the right Phaj Ej Hmoob of Sacramento posted this stringer to our FB page and wrote “Another nice day at the camanche trout pond…not bad for 3 1/2hrs of fishing. When asked what he was using us he told us “Chartreuse mice tail for two of my catches and yellow powerbait for the rest.”
To the left, this 7.60 lbs. trout was brought in but sorry we could not find the release for the picture so we can’t show this angler’s face. In the notes we found he was using LS ripper firetiger lure but not sure if it was the pond or the lake.
The inflow from Pardee Lake remained at 11 c.s.f. as of 01/10/16 and with the outflow from Lake Camanche at 180 c.s.f. Currently Lake Camanche is 59.72′ to spill level.
