Anglers are reporting the fishing has picked up at Camanche over the last few weeks.

Water temps have been reported between 56-58 degrees. The lake is holding at 67% with Lake Pardee releasing 848 C.F.S. and Camanche only releasing 340 C.F.S. Lake elevation as of this report at Camanche was 215.53  which puts the lake at 19.97′ from spilling.

A huge monster catfish was caught at the trout pond by Jeff Howard last Saturday evening 12/3.  Jeff out of Jackson told gate staff that he was using chicken liver to land this 27.6 pound beast.  This monster was also released back into the pond.

This puts Jeff at the top of the leader board for a 2017 Annual Pass.

Regular angler from West Sac, Dave Jans posted this report of his outing last Wed. 11/30                                                                                                                           “Target Species: Trout/Crappie, Surface Temp: 58 Degrees: Most trollers targeted the areas around Hat Island trolling parallel to the dam and the narrows.  Fish were scattered and not very hungry but large ones were there if you could get them to eat.  Anglers were picking up fish here and there.  Large crappie were abundant hitting bait fish imitations like Speedy Shiners and Rapalas at 30′ depths in 50′ of water.  Spotted bass were active and hanging around deep structure as well.  Thanks again!  I’ll be back on Monday – fishing all day and targeting trout and bass”

Below Alana Garcia posted some great pictures on FB with her catches from last Sunday 12/4.

Above: Frank Orlando and his friend John DiRegolo A great day on Camanche. We were trolling for trout (top lining), and down rigging for crappie. Instead we caught over 10 bass (2 of them were over 5 pounds). Released all the bass alive and well! Capped the day off with a 7 plus pound rainbow. Awesome day!

Below: Alana Garcia also posted these stunning lake shots as well. Thanks Alana!
