All I can say is WOW! Last Friday Lake Camanche was 74% and this Friday 3/30 the lake had risen to 80% full. Pardee Lake is sitting at 99% full and could possibly spill over its dam. At the time of this report, Lake Camanche had an elevation of 223.61. Pardee Lake’s increasing flows have remained heavy going into Lake Camanche at approx. 1,331 C.F.S. and Lake Camanche was releasing only approx. 330 C.F.S. again at the time of this report.

Water temperature was reported to be 60-63 degrees in the shallows and reported 55-57 on the main lake.

Friday 3/30/18 Mt. Lassen released 600 lbs. of trout at the south shore courtesy ramp and 600 lbs. to the south trout pond for a total of 1,200 lbs. this week and over 55,000 lbs. planted since October. An additional 1,800 lbs. will be planted before the end of next weekend.

Right: Neighbor, friend, longtime Camanche resident, and angler, Gene Bouie wrangled up these two beasts on Thursday 3/29! The larger one was 10 lbs.! He reported that he didn’t even get on the water until 4:30 pm and that water temps were in low 60s. He also reported that the 10 pounder was caught in 2′ – 3′ by a downed tree and the other one was 7′ – 10′.  He told me the magic was his green Yamamoto creature bait!

Thanks for the picture and info Gene!

Left: Kevin Wilson shared his stringer on FB 3/25 writing, “Had a great time fishing lake Camanche today with my friend Mike of Auburn Outboard. We got a late start but still had a great day trolling for trout. We ended the day with 7 nice very fat trout. We lost another 4 trout as LDR’s. Our biggest went 19 inches and went 8 lbs on two different scales. We trolled campers cove to the dam. Kens custom tackle Slim fast spoons was the hot ticket as with most trips to Camanche. We trolled from 5 ft to 34 ft.”

Right: Bruce Albers posted to FB on 3/19 stating, “Had a fun day at Camanche today started out slow was running too shallow.Went to 25 feet and did great all but one on speedy shiners, nine fish. All fish came on the lures that had gold on them.”

Left: Cousins Hayden Collins of Sacramento and grandson, Carter Jans of West Sacramento were out trolling with Carter’s Dad & Grandpa on Sunday 3/25 and brought in this 7 lb. rainbow as well as 2 crappies. Carter had the opportunity to reel in the trout to the boat which was a job in itself.

Right: Carter was bank fishing with his Mom on 3/26 at the south cove behind Monument RV park and snagged this crappie all by himself. He was pretty excited as you can see.

Only caught a few here and there all day, but the bite really turned on around 4:30 pm when some wind and a bit of overcast showed up, I boated 15 nice fish in an hour including this 9.06 pounder. Didn’t want to leave em biting, but I had to get going. #rippnlipps #rippnlippshitsquad
